Q. ERRMSG: Sending reported error (0x80042109): Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server A. Problem: When sending email you receive the message: "Task 'mail.domain.com - Sending' reported error (0x80042109): 'Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)'" Solution1: This error means that you are unable to connact to our SMTP server. The most common reason is that your ISP is blocking port 25, in which case switch your SMTP port to 29. Solution2: Check local firewalls and add rules to allow connections to port 25 to our servers. If neither solutions apply, submit a support ticket providing the output of: telnet mail.yourdomain.com 25 (execute this command by going to start > run > type "cmd" click OK > execute the command in the command prompt window.

Control Panel update

Please be advised that server administrators will be upgrading the DotNetpanel control panel software on Thursday, February 18th 2010 from 9:00pm ET to 02:00am ET. During this update, the control panel (http://panel.realssl.com) may be unavailable for a brief period of time (up to 15 minutes). This maintenance is being performed to take advantage of new features and bug fixes recently released in version 2.8.12. If you run your own control panel installation you will need to upgrade it using the control panel package installer once the maintenance has been completed.
