Q. HOW TO: Using temporary URLs A. Temporary URLs can be used to browse a web site before you point your DNS over to our servers. This is useful in cases where you are transferring a site and need to verify the new site is working before switching DNS which could potentially cause downtime. The control panel takes care of creating temp URLs automatically as soon as you add the domain. You can change the instant alias domain if you prefer not to use our unbranded instant alias To assign a temp URL to a web site: 1. Enter the hosting space that contains the web site you wish to configure 2. in the left menu click "web sites" 3. Click the web site you wish to configure Web Site Pointers / Aliases Web site pointers allow you to link web site to different domains. To add a web site pointer, click Add Web Site Pointer button. Add Web Site Domain Pointer page will open. Select an existing domain from the drop-down box and click Add Pointer button. New web site pointer will be created.

Control Panel update

Please be advised that server administrators will be upgrading the DotNetpanel control panel software on Thursday, February 18th 2010 from 9:00pm ET to 02:00am ET. During this update, the control panel (http://panel.realssl.com) may be unavailable for a brief period of time (up to 15 minutes). This maintenance is being performed to take advantage of new features and bug fixes recently released in version 2.8.12. If you run your own control panel installation you will need to upgrade it using the control panel package installer once the maintenance has been completed.
